The Translation – A Will of Her Own

Braw = fine/good

Kilt = Scottish men’s alternative to trousers (definitely not a skirt 😂)

Lass = girl or woman

Mates = friends

Mum = mother

Pissed = drunk

Shag = have sex

Shite = shit

Slàinte mhath = drinking toast meaning “good health”

Sporran = a pouch worn around the waist with a kilt (definitely not a purse 😂)

Tartan = plaid (tartans have more meaning beyond a design)

Wee = little

Whisky = Scottish whisky (it is not a misspelling of whiskey)
